What Not To Wear?

So I have a really fickle confession to make. One of the toughest adjustments I've found with being a "domestic diva" is what to wear each day. Maybe more importantly, what not to wear. An admitted shopping addict, I'm not into high fashion, I just like clothes. Clothes from Gap, from Macy's, even from Target - the brand is irrelevant. The only criterion is fit, form and "feel good" factor. The problem with not getting dressed to leave the house is that I am falling victim to elastic! There is extreme danger with elastic: you never really feel full and you never really feel put together. I'm not into having to iron clothes every day but I have given myself a new challenge. I will put on pants that actually button every day. I will (try to) reserve yoga pants and exercise shorts for just that: yoga & exercise.

6 Wonderful Years

Sebastian has slept through the night 2 nights in a row...could it be that my baby is growing up too quickly?!

Coco loves Fievel!

Anyone remember the long lost movie, "An American Tail?" Well, Coco has such a love for this movie we've been watching it for MONTHS. As is the case with toddlers, they learn by observation and then they copy. Today began her reinactment stage of this movie. She pulled this hat out of her closet today and started calling herself Fievel. She wore it nearly all day and even had it on when she went to bed. If you hear her say, "he wants his Papa" or "find his family," she isn't lost - she's quoting her beloved Fievel!

P.S. I have to give her credit for picking up the obvious similarities in the hats. Maybe our "same or different" games are paying off after all.

Hostess Cupcake Cake

I can't remember who all wanted this recipe, so I'm hoping that putting it on our blog will take care of most everyone. This is Donald's grandmother's recipe and it is sooo yummy. It really does taste like a giant Hostess Cupcake!

1 pkg. devil's food cake mix

8 oz. cool whip

8 oz. cream cheese

2 cups powdered sugar

1 can chocolate frosting

Bake cake in two round layers. Mix cool whip, cream cheese and powdered sugar. Spread between layers. Heat frosting in microwave for 15 seconds. Spread over cake. To make it look really authentic, use white frosting to make the swirls on top. Refrigerate before and after serving.
